Saft Rail Batteries
At Saft, we developed our first batteries for Paris train stations in 1919. Since then, we have provided rail companies worldwide with unrivalled expertise in design, manufacture and supply of onboard and trackside battery solutions. Our full service ranges from providing individual batteries to serving as a global supplier of fully integrated, turnkey battery systems. Our scope covers both new-build and replacement projects using nickel-based and lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery technology.
Li-ion Traction batteries
Based on Saft’s latest LTO technology, our modular and scalable Ion-OnBoard® regenerative traction battery systems help rail operators to achieve their sustainability goals.This storage system offers a scalable architecture and can be fitted on regional and urban rolling stock to ensure autonomous traction. It can also be combined with hydrogen fuel cell to further optimize the train range and energy efficiency.
MRX & MSX Ni-Cd Battery
Saft’s MRX & MSX ranges combine the proven reliability of Ni-Cd technology with the efficiency of Sintered/ PBE construction delivered in an ultra-light and compact format.Both are ideally suited for a wide range of rolling stock applications. Their block format provide for fast and easy commissioning, installation and maintenance of onboard batteries.MSX range can provide both starting and backup duties from a single battery for high-power backup requirements.
